Hi, I am Kristen Breaux and I absolutely love what I do! I've often been asked how I became a massage therapist and I truly believe that it chose me. When I was first introduced to the idea of becoming a massage therapist I was attending CSUS for a degree in Graphic Design. I hung on to the idea with the intention that if it's meant to be then I will pursue it after I finish. While attending CSUS I participated in the study abroad program and spent an epic year in Sydney Australia studying graphic design and photography. As my year in Australia came to an end I was so drawn to massage that I absolutely had to pursue this passion. I considered staying in Australia to attend massage therapy training however I preferred the program at the Healing Arts Institute in Roseville, CA.  Four days after returning home from a year in Australia I began my journey as a massage therapist.  When I graduated from The Healing Arts Institute in 2003 I began to work in the field while continuing to finish college. I graduated from California State University Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Photography.

My experience as a massage therapist began by working in day spas which ultimately lead me to the serene private practice setting I have now at my private practice office. Over the many years I have been practicing I have enjoyed continuing my education by taking classes to further enhance my skills. Some of this training has included soft tissue release, aroma therapy, raindrop therapy, hot stone massage, John Barnes myofacial release, prenatal massage, manual lymphatic drainage, reflexology, chakra balancing, reiki, and Tibetan vita flex. I have been certified by the California Massage Therapy Council as a Certified Massage Therapist with over 500 hours of education. Recently I have been fulfilling all pre requisite requirements at the Los Rios schools in Sacramento which will enable me to apply for a nursing program should I choose to do so in the future.

In 2013 I was able to merge my passion for massage therapy, babies, and wellness by completing training at the Family Massage Education Center in Ashland, OR to become a Certified Educator of Infant Massage. For many years prior to the pandemic, since 2014 I have been teaching Bonding & Baby Massage classes to parents at The Root. In 2020 I was able to continue teaching baby massage to parents abroad via live zoom classes. I look forward to continuing to teach small in person classes at my private practice office in 2021. As a practicing therapist since 2003, and a parent of 2 wonderful kids, I enjoy bringing my experience and education to each massage making everyones experience uniquely relaxing as well as therapeutic.
